16x2 LCD Display
« on: April 30, 2009, 10:43:34 AM »
We have a new LCD display available in the store.  It can plug directly into an I/O channel or an extension cable and is controlled by a "serial output" widget.  Although it's our design, it could be used with other micro-controllers since it accepts commands via serial (9600,8,N,1).

There is more information about the new LCD display on the wiki.

Nice! Do you have any suggestions for an enclosure?

Sorry, I haven't thought ahead that far.  The serial PCB does have 4 mounting holes in the corners.  I need to get a mechanical drawing up for the LCD...

Hi - What are the overall dimensions of the LCD module?
I couldn;t see them listed on the LCD page
Will it fit in a standard 1U rack panel... ?  (max about 38mm available)

The LCD is 80mm wide and 36mm high.  The only problem is the header pins stick out by an extra 10mm.  It would be possible to re-solder the header so it sticks out the back instead of the bottom.
