I'm trying to send serial data from two+ devices over the internet via the ioBridge, is it possible to use two serial modules? Or is there a better way to achieve what i am trying to do?
Thanks!

One serial board can send data to multiple modules - assuming both of those have serial boards, they can send data back to the other two. These links are called Serial Link actions, and you stack multiple actions together and link a bunch of modules together via the web. I hope that answers your question. Let us know if you need more info.

So I could use 2 ioBridges and 4 serial modules to create 2 virtual serial links? OR I could use 1 ioBridge and 2 serial modules to send serial data from 2 serial devices (water meters) to widgets?

Thanks for the quick reply!

If a water meter wants to send serial data, it would require a serial board and IO-204 - if they are both in the same location then two serial boards and one IO-204 is needed. If the water meters are scattered over the world then a serial board and IO-204 for each would be needed. Sounds like an interesting project.

(You could actually have a water temperature here kick on a water heater somewhere else. Probably not what you are looking to do, but it's a neat though.)

"virtual" serial connections are made between any two serial smart boards.  The serial boards could be on the same module or different modules.  Up to 4 serial boards can be on a single IO-204, all making "virtual" serial connections other modules.

You can also "virtually" connect the RX of one serial board to the TX's of multiple other serial boards.   It's kind of like "multi-casting" for serial devices.
