Changing TTL to Standard RS232 Voltage Levels

Hey,
On the wiki it mentions that the Serial Smart Boards operates on TTL voltage levels, and that the TX pin cannot communicate with a board that does not accept +/- 5 Volts. Has anyone been able to find a way around this problem? Are there any adapters anyone would recommend?

 I really need the smart board to send strings at standard RS-232 voltages (for the device I am using I think I can get away with 8 volts instead of 12).

You need a driver. Try this one:

Have you actually attempted it yet?  I've had success with the Serial Smart Board interfaced to standard (non TTL) serial ports.
