IP address of network with iobridge modules?
« on: August 29, 2009, 02:53:32 PM »
When the iobridge module connects home, is the remote ip address stored anywhere?
Basically if I'm away from home, I want to know the ip address of my home network (if my ISP has changed it).  I'm sure iobridge knows this, is it available anywhere via API's or dashboard etc?

(yes I could setup a dyndns type service, but that would require another box being left turned on)

Your module's IP address is only available in server logs.  The IP address isn't passed on as dynamic content to the rest of the system.  It wouldn't be any easy change to make.

thanks for quick response! I might look at doing this via the Arduino then.

Does your project require a remote address?

The IO-204 will continue to work even if your IP changes.

If you need remote access to home network, I would look at your router for the info. I know linksys and dlink routers have dynamic dns clients built in to update a website with IP changes.

I am also looking for a solution for this.  The D-Link DIR655 has a dynDNS but it doesn't work for me.  I verified the password and userID.  I even tried dlink's DDNS service (which is run by DynDNS).  Being able to grab the IP from the ioBridge would be great.  Even manually.  No chance that is possible?

It's possible. We just started logging the IP address. It's a part of a future update.

You are looking for the public IP of your network or the private IP of the IO-204?
