Halloween Dropping Spider

I made this project mostly using the arduino. The Internet connectivity was handled by the ioBridge.

The missing link here was trying to use this RF link kit for serial communication http://www.seeedstudio.com/depot/433mhz-rf-link-kit-p-127.html I failed miserably so I just had to use a cable...

Anyone has played with this RF kits?  I know xBee works but making these ones work is way less expensive.
