Serial mode: bug?
« on: November 17, 2009, 08:24:14 PM »
If i set any channel to serial mode, i am unable to change baud rate or signal mode.  Oddly, the status message up top says module offline.  All of the other settings seem to work (in I/O bridge mode for instance).  Any ideas?

Does using serial mode require a serial board connected?  I seem to remember reading there was a way to use the channel in raw serial mode (without a serial board).

Not a bug.  That's just the way it works.  Without the serial board attached, the web site can't interacted with it's settings.

There are two options for serial data.  Serial output/input through a serial smart board OR serial output only via a digital output pin.

Serial output through a digital output are configured through widgets.  Try the "Serial out" widget type if you are interested.
