RS-232 level smartboard
« on: November 18, 2009, 01:52:23 PM »
In order to use the serial smartboard with true RS-232 devices -- like a PC -- the signal levels need to be boosted.  The circuit to do this is very simple -- a MAX232 chip and three capacitors -- and costs less than a dollar to build, but it's kind of a hassle.  It would be a lot more convenient to have a smartboard that plugs into the serial smartboard that incorporates the circuit.  What would be even better is if the output were a DB9 or IDC connector.
