Pulse counting for wind speeds
« on: January 12, 2010, 10:53:44 PM »
Ok, I'm trying a pulse counter for checking wind speeds. I have an anemometer where it clicks a magnetic switch once for each time it rotates, and I need to count the number of pulses per second or per minute to figure wind speed. I used the circuit diagram at http://www.iobridge.com/wiki/circuits to connect it to a digital input with a 1K resistor.
Now, I need a rule to count those pulses per second or per minute and push them to the server. This is where I'm getting stuck. Can anyone give me some help on how to set up the rule? Thanks.

Evan

Hi

I am looking for the same thing.  Did anyone respond to you and/or did you figure out how to do it?

Thanks

Tyler

Sorry, we did not close the loop on the forum. This switched over to support@iobridge.com email.

Our latest firmware allows you to pulse counting directly onboard, then you can push the pulse count every 10 minutes for data logging.

All you have to do is create a data log for the channel that has the reed switch. The channel will set itself up automatically. If interested, the pulse counting is under the Onboard Rules and Actions section of the Module settings tab.
