x10 and EoP
« on: January 18, 2010, 04:51:18 PM »
Not sure if this is the right forum to ask, but anyway....

I am connecting my little IO-Bridge to my LAN via an EoP (ethernet over power) module. The EoP modules are brilliant, and the IO-Bridge works perfectly.

Now I am planning to test x10.

As the EoP module is running over the house power circuit, and x10 runs over the same power circuit, would there be any conflict/access issues? Can i run both technologies over the same power circuit? Hopefully they can both co-exist.

Can anyone with experience/knowledge on this topic please profer their advice.

thanks

it depends on what the frequencies are. The reason the eop things work is that they use a different frequency to transmit. its hard to explain.

this page explains it well. http://computer.howstuffworks.com/power-network2.htm
