Firmware Update Failure
« on: March 19, 2010, 12:01:44 AM »
I can't seem to update my ioBridge.  It's been at C3 since I got it.  I haven't updated it because I didn't need to, but I'm about to start messing with it again, so I figure it's time.  I unplugged everything except the power and network, disabled all widgets and logging, and rebooted many times.  All I get is, "ERROR: Problem while tranferring data. [Hide]".

Also, there's never any circular pattern or "F" on the ioBridge itself.  It looks like it just sits for a little bit, reboots and continues normally.  Am I missing something?

Not sure if this is the problem, but make sure all the channels are set to I/O mode.  Sometime having a channel set to a smart mode but not having the board connected will cause problems.

No success.  I had one channel set to X10, so I changed it to I/O, but I still get the same result.  Is there a way that I can download the update and force it on?

We can only force an upgrade it from our end (the server).  I looked into the server logs and it appears that the on board EEPROM has gone bad on your IO-204.  The only thing that uses the EEPROM is the upgrade process (and onboard actions if you have the latest firmware).  If you want to send it back, we can repair it.  I'll send you an email with the details.

Well, I guess if it's an actual hardware issue, I'll send it in.  Thanks for the assist.
