Thats a nice easy project. I even have all the parts in my junk drawer. Now to try it out.

You can use a larger capacitor if you like. If you add a larger capacitor it will hold the relay longer and filter out multiple presses of the doorbell. Mine holds the relay for about a full second. The capacitor is necessary to keep the relay from buzzing due to the AC power input on the rectifier.
