ioBridge to turn on and turn off air conditioner?
« on: June 24, 2010, 04:38:22 PM »
I’m looking for a solution to turn on and turn off air conditioner in my apartment from my iphone or the internet. Is it possible with ioBridge and what parts do I need?

What sort of air conditioner is it?  If it's a window unit, I would recommend it be connected to an X10 appliance module which in turn is controlled using the ioBridge X10 smart board.  I am using that arrangement now to control the temperature in my ham shack.

Thank you Ollie! I have Wall Mounted Heating - Cooling System, I guess it will work with recommended ioBridge stuff as well? Do you have any scheme because I haven't any experience with ioBridge.

By wall mounted, it sounds like you have something other than a window unit.  I would proceed with caution and consult with someone local and familiar with that equipment to avoid damaging it.  You might be able to connect to terminals within the thermostat but, again, find someone local who can help.
