controlling hostels for lights, power plugs,geysers....
« on: August 03, 2010, 04:12:44 AM »
Hi there, we are a school and we like to control the lights, power, etc in our classrooms and hostels direct from a central point in the serverroom over the intranet. In every classroom and hostel there is network.  Somebody have done a similar application?

Is there a particular reason to use the intranet? I've used the x10 protocol to do what you're describing, it uses the power lines to transmit signals.

The iobridge has an x10 interface that allows you to send x10 commands via the internet if you are determined to use a network.
