It's not mine, but here's a write-up on a how to record data to a Google spreadsheet.

Is there any easy way to do this without utilizing an external script running on a computer?  Has anyone been able to directly feed iobridge data to a google spreadsheet for continuous data logging?

We're putting that together right now.  We'll make an announcement when it's ready.

What? Jason are you serious? This would be a huge step forward to have a logging built in.

I have had success with the google spreadsheet logging. It was quite easy all in all, but I did need to have the script running as a cron job on my linux box. I am excited to see what the ioBridge team is coming up with.

Yes.  Data logging has been a popular request from beginning.  We had to finish a few other things before we could tackle it though.

We're also working on a module firmware upgrade.  The upgrade will teach the module a few new "tricks".  I'll detail that in an upcoming announcement.

This would be wonderful. I hate paying $30/month for a Virtual Private Server just to log data.

Hi Jason
I asked a while back about conneting to pachube.com, I guess if you can send data to google you might also be able to send to pachube is that right? Or is what you're working on a specific widget just for Google and not for other services?

Although it's possible for us to do it in terms of technology, we're holding off because of some business reasons.  I apologize for being so vague, but there is a lot going on behind the scenes right now.  Wink

I'm wondering if the new features for direct logging to Google Apps is available now. I've just ordered a 204 and this capability would be extremely interesting to me.

(I just noticed that this thread is over a year old.)

In that time you can data log to our services or use the Serial Web Services API and data log to any script or any URL that accepts data through a HTTP GET.

There is no direct links to Google Docs, but it's possible. What has not changed in a year is that we are busy. And, we got some new changes that we will be blogging about soon. We're growing!
